Ferguson planning £50M spending spree

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has plans of spending £50 million to add to his squad this summer.

The Mirror says Ferguson will build on Manchester United’s 20th title triumph with a mega summer spending spree costing upwards of £50million.

Despite leading United to a 13th Premier League crown, Ferguson plans to invest heavily in his squad to ensure they stay ahead of their domestic rivals and push for Champions League glory.

Among Ferguson’s targets include Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao, Borussia Dortmund forward Robert Lewandowski and Everton left-back Leighton Baines.

Those set to make way for new arrivals are Nani, Anderson and Paul Scholes, who will retire for a second time.

The future of striker Wayne Rooney also remains unclear.
